about
Vera Weber is an award-winning film composer from Los Angeles.
Known for emotionally resonant themes and distinctive electro-acoustic textures, her music balances minimalism with bold personal expression, appealing to directors seeking sensitive, original storytelling that departs from convention. Weber blends Western classical, world, and experimental instruments with voice, guitar, electronic textures, and beats, creating a versatile, modern palette for drama, thrillers, period pieces, horror, and youth-oriented projects.
Weber’s recent work includes scoring two mini-series, Take the Money and Run and Am Ende – Die Macht der Kränkung, as well as numerous feature films for major European broadcasters.
She wrote and produced original songs for Netflix’s thriller series Woman of the Dead (Season 2), released by Milan Records and Sony Music France. Her song “Rosebud” was nominated for Best Song in a Limited Series at the 2025 Hollywood Music in Media Awards, a highly competitive category in which she was an underdog alongside Lady Gaga, Evanescence, and Twenty One Pilots.
Weber comes from a long lineage of musicians from the rural villages of the Black Forest. She grew up learning composition from her father, Matthias Weber, through years of collaboration and a shared love of music. Together, they won a German Emmy Award (Deutsche Akademie für Fernsehen) for their duo score to the TV film Die Stille am Ende der Nacht, which prominently features Weber’s vocals in the main theme.
In Los Angeles, she previously worked as a full-time staff composer at Hans Zimmer’s Bleeding Fingers Custom Music, having been selected from among a thousand applicants, and continues to collaborate with local filmmakers.
Beyond film music, Weber is a performing and recording artist, a versatile singer-songwriter with a rigorous background in classical piano and harpsichord. She has performed with ensembles at Carnegie Hall, Disney Hall’s REDCAT, The Troubadour, and Zipper Hall, and has toured internationally in China and Mexico. Weber is active in multiple music projects spanning alternative pop, rock, and folk, and also composes contemporary concert music in her free time.
